Permissive Change for FCC Certification Application
The FCC Part 2, Section 2.1043 and KDB 178919 Permissive Change Policies should be used to determine the type of application for change in certified device.
i) Maximum power or field strength ratings
Permissive change may be applied under the following conditions. Otherwise, a new application is required.
· Maximum fundamental emission changes ≤ ±3 dB for radiated and ≤ ±0.5 dB for conducted from the original authorization.
ii) Spurious emissions
Class 2 permissive change may be applied under the following conditions. Otherwise, class 1 permissive change is required.
· Worst case spurious emission increase > 3 dB for radiated and > 0.5 dB for conducted from the original authorization.
The above rules also cover products with multi-channels. For this case, the worst case is the highest carrier output power or field strength from all tested channels.
