Learn how to create, find, and manage your conversations better with these tips and tricks.
Starting a New Conversation
A. Add user - Send a direct message to one person or create a group conversation by adding more people.
B. Send a message - Start a conversation by sending a message.
Editing Basic Conversation Details
You can customize the avatar, name, and description for a group or record conversation.
A. Edit - Click anywhere in the conversation header to the left of the icons.
B. Avatar - Upload an image to stand out from the crowd.
C. Name - Give your conversation a unique name.
D. Description - Add a short description for the conversation.
Working in Conversations
A. Mention a user - Get someone’s attention in a group chat by mentioning them. Enter the @ character and select a user from the list that appears.
B. View a user's profile - View a user's profile details quickly by clicking a mentioned name. The profile includes basic information and a link to send a direct message.
C. Attach a file - Attach a file the old-fashioned way.
D. Drag and drop to attach - Drag and drop a file directly in your conversation.
Viewing Link Previews
A. Record previews - Provide contextual data about internal records referenced in Connect.
B. Link previews - Provide contextual data about external links referenced in Connect.
Additional Conversation Tools
A. Info - Open the information panel to view record details (for record conversations), referenced URLs, and related records displayed in chronological order.
B. Members - Manage conversation members. Add new members, remove members, and view member profiles.
C. Attachments - View all the attachments referenced in the conversation and add attachments.
D. Notification preferences - Set your notification preferences for the conversation.
