Expressing worries and concerns
Use the words worry and concern to talk about bad things that could happen.
‘Worry‘ and ‘concern‘ with ‘that‘
Use that when the next part of the sentence is an independent clause
(a phrase with a noun and a verb that can stand alone as a sentence).
I‘m worried that we‘ll fall behind the competition.
I‘m concerned that we won‘t be able to compete.
‘Worry‘ and ‘concern‘ with ‘about‘
Use about when the next part of the sentence is a noun or a gerund (verb + ing). Notice that,
in these examples, concerned is an adjective and concerns is a noun.
