(500) Days of Summer and The Graduate
The questions below are not required for you to answer, but will guide you in your
essay. Use your knowledge of both films to help define your answers. You do not have
to turn in the questions, just complete the essay provided at the bottom.
(500) Days of Summer
1. What did the use of split screen say about the two characters and their
relationship?
2. What was the meaning behind the variations of blue, brown, black & white,
green, and red? What does each color mean? How does each color relate to Tom
and his relation with Summer and his environment? Describe and defend your
explanation for each individual color.
3. How does Tom view love and how does it change? How does Summer view love
